Welcome to the Fayre!
The Bocking Village Fayre takes place every May Day bank holiday in the village of Bocking, near Braintree, in Essex. Several local organisations in the village come together to provide a vibrant and entertaining means of raising money for the village. Alongside stalls, food, fun and games, the annual Flower Festivals also take place over the weekend in both Bocking churches.
The Village Fayre has been running for over 20 years and continues to be a popular and exciting day for the community - rain or shine. The Fayre has humble beginnings as a means of simply supporting local institutions and drawing wider attention from the community to their causes - please see the Fayre Constitution page for more information.
Over the years the Fayre has grown into an outstanding annual event with more and more visitors each year. The attractions on the day are supported and sponsored by local businesses and members of the community who are vital to the success of the day. Please have a look at our Sponsors page to see who the local heroes are!
2020 Date Chage
This year the Fayre will take place on Friday 8th May. The early May bank holiday has been moved to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, the day of the formal surrender that signified the end of World War II in Europe. This is a rare change of date, however the Fayre is on course to be just as spirited and fun as always.
The Bocking Village Fayre is always in need of volunteers and welcomes help from all. If you would like to run a stall, or volunteer some of your time, please get in touch. The success of the day would not be possible without the generosity of the individuals who donate time to help out and run the Fayre!
If you are interested in running a stall please contact the venue you'd like to help or set up at or alternatively send the Co-ordinating Group an email (Contact Us).
